‘Unionists have nothing to fear’

2 April 2012

DECLAN KEARNEY’S ‘Uncomfortable Conversations’ article in the March issue of An Phoblacht (about post-conflict initiatives and reaching out to unionists) made headlines in the mainstream media. Acht Teanga Thar Am

2 April 2012

TÁ SÉ i bhfad thar am anois go mbeadh Acht Teanga tógtha isteach sa reachtaíocht sna Sé Chontae. Bhí sé seo geallta i gComhaontú Chill Rďmhinn sa bhliain 2006 nuair a ghlac an Dá Rialtas agus na páirtithe uile le linn na n-idirbheartaíochtaí chun go dtabharfaí Acht Teanga isteach mar chuid de. Sé bliana ina dhiaidh, táthar fós ag fanacht le feidhmiú an achta úd. Free article

Mol an óige

2 April 2012

TÁ MO MHAC naoi mbliana d’aois inniu. Agus mé dhá scríobh seo tá mé ag cloisteáil ar chlár teilifíse go gcosnaíonn sé ar an meán dhá chéad míle euro páiste a thógáil in Éirinn. Freisin, tá eolas ag teacht amach go bhfuil socrú dhá dhéanamh ag an Rialtas ó dheas banna eile a thógáil amach, nach mbeidh iníoctha go dtí 2025, in áit an nóta barántais Anglo. An cheist atá seo ag ardú i m’intinn ná cén ualach atá muid ag leagan ar ghuaillí ár gclann agus clann ár gclainne agus cén tionchar a bheidh aige seo orthu agus ar an tír ina mhaireann siad? Northern soccer’s elephant in the room

2 April 2012

BEFORE I START, I want to get something clear: I am biased against Linfield. I grew up following Cliftonville FC in North Belfast and the arch rivals/enemy was Linfield. They also happened to be the most successful team in the league played in the North, although I believe that had a lot to do with the fact that they were also the richest team in the league.
