Bronagh Wilson

22 April 2010

I met Bronagh Wilson and her family last Saturday night. She is an ordinary young woman from west Belfast with two small children. But she is also one of the bravest people I have had the honour to meet during my life. Her story is one of great love and compassion. Free article

Eamon Gilmore's leader's address to the Labour Party Ard Fheis last weekend makes for interesting reading. Gilmore told delegates that he wanted a government that would both "change the way the system works and be prepared to change the system if necessary". Free article

Border Campaign recalled

22 April 2010

A memorial dedicated to the memory of the Edentubber Martyrs, who lost their lives in an explosion during the IRA's Border Campaign, and "to those in every generation who played their part in the struggle for Irish Freedom" is to be unveiled in Enniscorthy, County Wexford, next month. Cúlchaint LE EOGHAN Mac CORMAIC

22 April 2010

THE JULIA CARNEY COLUMN

22 April 2010

I was enjoying my Saturday morning. The sun was streaming in through the window and a whole day of nothing to do was stretching before me. I sat at the kitchen table eating a bowl of crunchy nut corn flakes. The knowledge that they, and the milk in which they lay, were Roisín's made them taste all the sweeter. Free article

Remembering the Past: Michael O'Rahilly

22 April 2010
