Discrimination against women has always existed. It's too hard to pinpoint exactly when it started, or why it did, but it can be identified as far back as Aristotle's ancient Greece. Even this so-called 'enlightened' philosopher affirmed the so-called inherent inferiority of women to men. Women, were in fact 'slaves of slaves' in ancient Greece. Free article
