Peter Hain has been at pains over the recent past to convince anyone who would listen, that he is prepared to take the hard decisions in the absence of agreement between the parties. Whether or not he will actually carry through with his stated determination in the face of DUP belligerence remains to be seen. But in the meantime there is one very simple decision that Mr. Hain could make that might just give some credibility to his rhetoric. He could cease attempting to spread the blame for the impasse across all of the parties and publicly name the party of obstruction- the DUP. AGENDA: Truth demands Britain acknowledge role in conflict

Reading Brian Murphy's account of how the British manipulated the truth "made the hairs stand up on the back of your neck" according to Danny Morrison. The former An Phoblacht Editor and Sinn Féin Publicity Director was launching 'The Origins and organisation of British Propaganda in Ireland 1920' in Dublin last Friday. The 100-page work was launched by Morrison, Professor David Miller of Strathclyde University and the author, Brian Murphy. Rarely does An Phoblacht get carried away with the trends and results shown in opinion polls - even when they show a rise in support for Sinn Féin. However, the establishment media takes such polls very seriously - except when they show a rise in support for Sinn Féin.
