Bullet in post to new MLA: McMullan asking questions of Post Office and PSNI

Under threat: Sinn Féin MLA Oliver McMullan

THE NEWLY-ELECTED Sinn Féin MLA for East Antrim, Oliver McMullan, is holdING urgent meetings with the Post Office and the PSNI after a number of bullets were posted to people in the north and east Antrim areas.

As well as receiving a bullet in the post with a card claiming it was from the “Loyalist Action Force”.

Similar threats were sent to figures in the GAA in Larne and Ballymena.

Oliver McMullan said:

Obviously, this is a major cause for concern.

My meeting with the Post Office will focus on why none of these packages were franked despite being posted to the various addresses.

Were they appropriately inspected before being forwarded? If they were, then why wasn’t anything suspicious noticed?

Or were they inspected but allowed to go on anyway?
