An Phoblacht columnist elected to Seanad for Sinn Féin
AN PHOBLACHT columnist Trevor Ó Clochartaigh has been elected to the Agricultural panel of the Seanad for Sinn Féin.
Speaking from Leinster House, Senator Ó Clochartaigh said:
Today is great day for Sinn Féin in Galway West and I want to thank all those who voted for me throughout the country.
I look forward to playing an important role in Sinn Féin’s enlarged Leinster House team and to being a voice for the west of Ireland, rural farming and fishing communities and Irish language speakers throughout the island.
Sinn Féin’s voice is more important now than it has ever been. We are striving to be the real force of opposition in the Houses of the Oireachtas, to try and achieve an Ireland that is fair and equal for all of our citizens.
Lá mór é seo do mhuintir Chonamara, muintir na Gaillimhe agus muintir Shinn Féin ar fud na tíre. Tá ríméad orm a bheith tofa mar Sheanadóir. Beidh mé ag obair ar mhaithe le pobail iarthar na tíre, na feirmeoirí, na hiascairí, lucht na Gaeilge agus na tuaithe.
Beidh mé mar ghlór láidir ag pobal na Gaillimhe i dTithe an Oireachtais chomh maith.
