VIDEO: Youngest Assembly election candidate for Sinn Féin – MaryKate Quinn
MARYKATE QUINN (Lagan Valley) is one of the new generation of Sinn Féin representatives.
A 23-year-old political and community activist in the Crumlin/Glenavy area, she attended St Mary's University College where she was secretary of the hurling club and, in 2010, graduated with a degree in Liberal Arts and History.
MaryKate joined Sinn Féin in 2007 and her talent and enthusiasm was quickly recognised in her appointment as Political Adviser to Mitchel McLaughlin MLA in South Antrim.
She has a keen interest in youth and women's issues and minority rights. In July 2010, she attended a major European migration conference in Poland. She holds a number of key positions in Sinn Féin and also works as an outreach youth worker.
