NUI GRADUATES IN THE USA APPEAL > ELECT EOIN Ó BROIN
GERRY ADAMS TD has appealed to National University of Ireland graduates in the USA to use their Seanad vote by voting for Sinn Féin’s Eoin Ó Broin.
A Chara,
For the first time Irish citizens who live in the US and are graduates of the National University of Ireland, will have an opportunity to vote for Sinn Féin in an Oireachtas election.
This is a unique opportunity to support Sinn Féin’s agenda for change.
Electing a Sinn Féin senator will strengthen our hand in the Oireachtas and increase the demand for the extension of voting rights for Irish citizens abroad.
A strong Sinn Féin voice in the Oireachtas will hold Fine Gael and Labour to account and scrutinise their Programme for Government.
We will be demanding the highest standards in public life and making a stand for Ireland’s interests. Sinn Féin will also be putting forward new ideas and building support across society for a real alternative.
We will be using the Oireachtas to lead the campaign for Irish unity.
Sinn Féin has produced detailed proposals for fundamental political reform, including to the Seanad itself. It cannot continue in its current form. We need a new Constitution, increased voter participation, the extension of voting rights, cutting of excessive salaries and reform how the Dáil does business. We need the practical planning for Irish reunification to start now.
On behalf of Sinn Féin, I ask you to vote for Eoin Ó Broin in the Seanad elections and to help our party deliver real and lasting change on the island of Ireland. I would also ask you to talk to your fellow graduates and ask them to support Sinn Féin in this election.
Ballot papers have already been posted out and you have until 27th April to return your vote.
Is mise,
Gerry Adams TD
Sinn Féin President
