Delivering change

Next month's elections in the Six Counties are a major challenge to republicans across every constituency and every council district in which the party is standing.

In recent years the party has expanded organisationally into areas that have never before seen a Sinn Féin cumann. The opportunity is now there for greater numbers of people to vote for Sinn Féin and its radical alternative and for significant electoral gains to be made.

The fact that Sinn Féin has never stood candidates in many constituencies before indicates the risk posed by loyalist gun gangs to candidates, election workers and those who might vote for the party.

Times have changed and Sinn Féin is putting down a marker; saying there is nowhere the party won't go to brings its radical message. After all, it was Sinn Féin that destroyed unionist hegemony in Belfast City Hall.

It is in arenas of struggle such as elections that the expansion and development of Sinn Féin can be measured in a tangible way that can't be denied by our political enemies.

Sinn Féin is standing a candidate in each of the 18 Westminster constituencies for the first time ever and over 50 additional candidates in the local government elections, making a total of 158 candidates across the Six Counties.

These candidates are confronting unionist domination and are challenging the British government to live up to its commitments under the Good Friday Agreement.

As the only party to organise and fight elections across the 32 counties of Ireland, Sinn Féin is the sole authentic united Ireland party in Ireland.

Republicanism is a radical choice for voters seeking empowerment, peace, justice and equality, whether in Belfast, Banbridge, or Ballina.

On 7 June every vote for Sinn Féin will count and each one will make a difference because Sinn Féin is the party delivering change across the entire island of Ireland.
