Finance Bill: Sinn Féin in Govt would reverse cuts and introduce new Budget
SPEAKING in Dublin on Saturday as the Finance Bill passed through the Oireachtas, Gerry Adams pledged that Sinn Féin TDs in Government would take action to reverse the cuts and introduce a new Budget.
He said the Government cuts that Fine Gael and Labour intend to implement will be deeply damaging to the public and society:
Sinn Féin is the only party entering this election offering the voters a real alternative.
In government, neither Fine Gael or Labour would lift a finger to undo what has been done by this Government.
Mícheál Martin has said that in opposition he will support a Fine Gael-led Government in implementing the cuts agenda.
The Sinn Féin leader also branded Fine Gael’s trip to Europe about the EU/IMF deal as “an election stunt”.
The question is – what will these parties do in government?
Sinn Féin in government would reverse the cuts contained in the Finance Bill and introduce a new Budget.
We would not increase taxes on low-earners but ensure that those who can afford to pay more pay their fair share.\
We would reject the EU/IMF deal which is a dig-out for greedy bankers and speculators; it’s not a bail-out for Irish citizens.
