Greens dodge ‘Govt must go’ protest at Malahide summit > Photos & TV film
SINN FÉIN members lobbied the Green Party meeting at the Grand Hotel, Malahide, County Dublin, this morning to put pressure on the Greens to pull out of government without any further delay.
Sinn Féin Dublin City Councillors Dessie Ellis and Larry O'Toole asked to meet Green Party leaders to put their case personally but the Green Party declined to face their political opponents.
The event was covered by TV3.
Both spoke to the media and said that if the roles had been reversed, Sinn Féin would have sent out a representative to speak to them.
Councillor Ellis said:
Brian Cowen’s Government is like a wounded bear, staggering from one crisis to another.
We need a new government with a new approach and to give the people a chance of a new start with a general election now.
