Share the Wealth
Over 1,000 people marched through Dublin city centre on Wednesday, 20 October, to highlight the new ``Share the Wealth'' campaign, organised by the National Anti-Poverty Networks.
The campaign wants to demonstrate that Ireland is a deeply unequal society.
Campaign spokesperson Chris McInerney said: ``All the time we were told to tighten our belts because the country had no money. Now it turns out the money was there all along. People are justifiably angry. The only way for the Government to restore trust is to repay the money that was stolen from the Irish people by investing in decent social provision, to remedy the damage done to so many peoples lives over so many years.''
