Coming of age in Long Kesh
Ex-prisoners and other community activists attended the launch of Jim McCann's latest book, Growing up in Long Kesh, in the Tús Nua offices (an ex-prisoners' support group) in Turf Lodge in Belfast on Tuesday, 19 October.
Speaking at the launch, McCann reflected on the value of his experiences of growing up in one of the most notorious jails in the world and praised the comradeship of those he was imprisoned alongside. Anyone who was there will know what he means. Anyone who wasn't there will appreciate the value of comradeship in prison when they read the book.
