Nobody trusts this Fianna Fáil Government – Gerry Adams

SPEAKING at Leinster House today, Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams said the Fianna Fáil-led Government is wrong to try and saddle citizens with 80 billion to 100 billion euros of bank debt.
Gerry was meeting with Sinn Féin TDs and other elected reps to discuss the ongoing economic crisis and Sinn Féin’s critically-acclaimed alternative to the Consensus for Cuts backed by Fianna Fáil, the Greens, Fine Gael and Labour.

Gerry Adams said:

The Government got it wrong on the Bank guarantee; they got it wrong on bailing out the banks; they are still getting it wrong.
They are trying to saddle citizens with 80 billion to 100 billion euros of bank debt.
This is about political choices and this government is making all of the wrong political choices. And they are refusing to tell the people what they are doing.
This government is even prepared to bring outsiders in to run the economy – to run the state – rather than give the people their say.
There is a way forward but it’s not their way.
We can run this economy ourselves.
But a first step is to get rid of this government.
