Women's Coalition member forced out after loyalist threat

Women's Coalition member Pearl Sagar had to move home after she was threatened by loyalists in East Belfast.

Along with her husband (a former British soldier who served in the Six Counties) they moved after earlier threats escalated into acts of sectarian intimidation. Sagar's 18 year old daughter, Naomi has also had to stay away from East Belfast after loyalists found out her fiance was a Catholic. The Women's Coalition was founded two years ago and polled around 7,000 votes in the North.

``The decision to move came because of intimidation'', said Sagar, ``it all got a bit much at the end, and I feel rather sad that it all happened''.
