No Racism - No Deportations Day of Action
A coalition of groups including the Association of Refugees and Asylum Seekers in Ireland, Anti Fascist Action, the Anti Racism Campaign and Immigrant Solidarity in Cork have organised a Day of Action to highlight the plights of asylum seekers in Ireland.
Ten deportations of asylum seekers have occurred since Febuary this year, and with the Government mooting a willingness to dispell 90% of them from the country because they are ``economic migrants'' and not ``genuine refugees'', action groups felt it was time to educate the people of Ireland on the realities of the Situation.
The march and rally will commence at 2pm on Saturday 25 April from the Department of Justice in Dublin. International protests centered specifically around the issue of Irish racism will occur in Paris, Bonn and London at their respective Irish embassies.
