Wexford Civil War victims of Free State commemorated by families
THE annual Parle/Creane/Hogan Commemoration – for three Civil War Wexford republican prisoners executed by a Free State Army firing squad – was held on Sunday 8 May with wreaths laid on behalf of the Parle family by Jim Parle, on behalf of the Hogan family by Ann Hogan, and on behalf of the Creane family by Des McCabe.
James Parle (Clovervalley, Taghmon), John Creane (Clonerane, Taghmon) and Patrick Hogan (William Street, Wexford) were shot at Wexford Jail in 1923.
Wreaths were also laid by Mick a Vick O’Leary and Leah Furlong on behalf of Sinn Féin.

Proceedings were chaired by Des McCabe and Enniscorthy Councillor Johnny Mythen.
Wicklow TD John Brady gave the oration and Lise McCabe read the Proclamation.
