Yanis Varoufakis to speak to Right2Change conference in Dublin on Saturday
THE Right2Change grassroots community movement is hosting a conference on Saturday at Dublin's Mansion House where a panel of distinguished national and international speakers will discuss an alternative society based on equality, democracy and social justice.
The conference is called “Another Ireland is Possible – Alternatives to Austerity”.
Yanis Varoufakis, the progressive economist and former SYRIZA MP, will be speaking via a live video link.
Others speakers include:-
John Barry – Professor of Green Political Economy at Queen’s University Belfast School of Politics;
Maude Barlow – National Chairperson of the Council of Canadians and Chair of the board of Washington-based Food and Water Watch;
John Hilary – Executive Director of War on Want, a radical anti-poverty charity based in London, and author of The Poverty of Capitalism: Economic Meltdown and the Struggle for What Comes Next ;
Ann Pettifor – known for correctly predicting the 2008 financial crash and appearing on NNC Newsnight, Channel 4 News, Al Jazeera and Russia Today to present her analysis of and radical solutions to the sovereign debt crisis afflicting Europe, she was recently invited to join the Economic Advisory Committee charged with advising Jeremy Corbyn and John McDonnell on the economic strategy to be adopted by the British Labour Party.
