Ballymurphy Massacre families keep pressure on British Government

THE annual 'March for Truth' – calling on the British Government to allow a proper and thorough investigation into the killings of 11 people in Ballymurphy in the days after the internment raids of August 1971 – attracted hundreds of sympathisers when it took place on Sunday 9 August

The date marked the 44th anniversary of the British Army's Operation Demetrius and the introduction of internment.

Support came from various groups who, like the Ballymurphy families, are demanding justice for family members killed by state forces, including relatives of the 15 people killed in the McGurk's Bar bombing and the relatives of three men killed when loyalists bombed Kelly's Bar in May 1972.
