The Alternative Voice to the Fine Gael/Labour Government
Sinn Féin's Gerry Adams TD, Mary Lou McDonald TD and Peadar Tóibín TD at the National Economic Dialogue conference in Dublin Castle
"SINN FÉIN is advocating for a fair economy and a fair recovery,” Gerry Adams said as he entered the National Economic Dialogue conference in Dublin Castle on Thursday along with Mary Lou McDonald TD and Peadar Tóibín TD.
“We need to be persuaded that this is not simply a pre-general election event for the Government.
“And we are mindful that, in this month, the Government cut the Lone Parent Allowance while ramming through the Civil Debt legislation to pickpocket citizens' salaries, benefits and pensions to pay for water charges which the vast majority of citizens are opposed to.
“This government appears intent on repeating the ‘boom and bust’ cycle of Fianna Fáil who squandered billions of euro to buy elections with no thought or care of the social consequences of their actions.”
