Ardoyne, Bone, Ligoniel tribute unveiled in north Belfast
SUNDAY 5 OCTOBER saw republicans from across Belfast turn out in large numbers and stand with the families of the republican dead from Ardoyne, the Bone and Ligoniel as a mural in honour of the area’s dead activists was unveiled.
The mural, at Ardoyne Avenue, was rededicated as part of an initiative by former POWs to pay tribute to the dead. The memorial stands as a fitting tribute to those to whom it is dedicated.
The event was chaired by former POW Tom Holland while Robert ‘Cheeser’ Crawford, who served 20 years in prison, delivered the main oration.
‘Cheeser’ Crawford unveiled the mural along with local man Paddy Copeland.
