Jailed Basque leader Arnaldo Otegi’s daughter and son meet Sinn Féin in Belfast
THE DAUGHTER AND SON of jailed Basque leader Arnaldo Otegi have met with senior Sinn Féin representatives on a visit to Belfast.
Garazi and Hodei Otegi met Junior Minister Jennifer McCann, West Belfast MP Paul Maskey and Councillor Caoimhín Mac Giolla Mhín.
The Sinn Féin representatives took Garazi and Hodei to the city’s famous International Wall on Sunday 28 September, where they were photographed at the mural calling for the release of the 700 Basque political prisoners held by the Spanish state as a crucial way of building on the Basque peace initiative.
