Return of Dáil – Sinn Féin says Government "stumbling from one crisis to another"
AS THE Dáil returned from the summer recess, Sinn Féin leader Gerry Adams TD outlined his party's priorities for the coming term and slammed the Government's failure on a range of issues.
Adams said his party is looking forward to continuing its job of robustly holding the Government to account:
"We have a Government that is stumbling from one crisis to another," he told reporters at Leinster House.
"This dysfunction is evident in the current debacle in health. The Government's health policy has collapsed. In Justice, we see continued abuses of the penalty points system, despite assurances that measures were put in place to put a stop to this"
Adams also spoke about the housing crisis, the conflict in the Middle East and distress in the beef sector.
Mary Lou McDonald outlined Sinn Féin's continued opposition to the introduction of domestic water charges.
