Sinn Féin support striking public sector workers

SINN FÉIN have backed striking public sector workers saying they are entitled to a living wage.

Attending a demonstration in Belfast, Sinn Féin's Belfast Council team said:

"Workers across the North are struggling to make ends meet and pay bills.

"Low paid workers in particular have been badly hit as salaries have not kept up with rises in the cost of living.

"Many frontline public sector workers, who provide essential services to local communities, are among the lowest paid.

"Workers are entitled to a decent wage and we joined strikers at picket lines in Belfast this morning.

"Sinn Féin has repeatedly called for the introduction of a living wage, which recognises the rise in the cost of living and we will continue to do so."
