James Connolly commemorated in Belfast


REPUBLICANS of all political allegiances and trades unionists gathered at Glenalina Terrace on the Falls Road on Monday 12 May to mark the 98th anniversary of the execution of republican socialist James Connolly by the British.

Organised under the auspices of the James Connolly Society, the main speaker at the event was Jack O’Connor of the Trade Union, SIPTU.

Sinn Féin Councillor Jim McVeigh, Chair of the Connolly Society, hosted the event.
