Spiky election video pricks Labour leader’s thorny past and present
The video was posted on Facebook by Sinn Féin candidate Shane O’Brien, standing in Killiney/Shankill
A VIDEO by local election candidate Shane O’Brien – standing in the ward where Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore lives – might provoke a spiky reaction from his neighbour with its highlighting of a litany of broken promises by the Labour Party in Government and a dig at the Labour leader’s Workers’ Party past.
'The Labour Rose' video was posted on his Facebook page by Sinn Féin candidate Shane O’Brien (right), standing in the Killiney/Shankill ward of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, the ward where the Labour Party leader lives.
Shane O'Brien says:
"I have lived in the area all my life. I work as a production engineer and volunteer with a range of projects in my locality.
"Through my work as a volunteer in the community, I have seen first-hand the effects that austerity is having on our services and facilities.
"This led me to join Sinn Féin as a credible and viable alternative to continued cutbacks and the implementation of unjust and unfair taxes such as the Property Tax or the upcoming Water Charges."
