Pipe Down tells the story of a rural community in Co. Mayo who have been battling the oil giant Shell over its plan to put a dangerous raw-gas pipeline through their village and to complete the construction of a gas-processing terminal that is a threat to their delicate environment.

The story of the meltdown at the Fukushima nuclear plant in Japan in March 2011 and the cover-up by the power company and the Japanese government. Residents were forced to buy their own Geiger counters and dosimeters to find out if their communities were in danger. The film interviews the Mothers of Fukushima, nuclear-power experts and trade unionists who are fighting for justice and for the protection of the people of Japan and of the world.
