Bellaghy attacks must stop, says Sinn Féin MLA
SINN FÉIN has called for an end to attacks on buildings in Bellaghy village, County Derry. Over the past fortnight slogans have been daubed on the GAA club, commercial premises and now for a second time on the Orange hall.
Sinn Féin MLA Ian Milne said that “substantial work” has been carried by various groups, including the local Community Group and the Bellaghy Development Association, to enhance the image of the village and improve community relations.
These attacks are damaging the image of the village and upsetting people, he said.
“I am calling on those responsible for this mindless vandalism to stop immediately.
“The people of Bellaghy are proud of their village and the ongoing improvement work which is being carried out. No one wants to see any building in the village being defaced by unsightly graffiti or community relations being damaged in any way."
