White line picket remembers Gibraltar – 25 years on
Dozens of republicans took to the streets of Belfast on Wednesday 6 March to remember IRA Volunteers Mairéad Farrell, Dan McCann and Seán Savage who were gunned down in Gibraltar 25 years ago.
SAS assassins, acting on orders from Margaret Thatcher's war cabinet, ambushed the three despite knowing they were unarmed.
Among those who took part in the white line picket at Andersonstown was West Belfast Sinn Féin MP Paul Maskey, former MEP Bairbre de Brún and local councillors Emma Groves and Caoimhín Mac Giolla Mhín. Seamus Finucane also attended.
