Plaque unveiled to remember female POWs
A new plaque was unveiled on Friday 1 March at the Womens' Memorial Garden in the grounds of the Roddy McCorley Club in Belfast to remember women POWs.
West Belfast Sinn Féin MLA Sue Ramsey chaired the event and spoke of the commitment and dedication of the many women who served time in British prisons through the decades of struggle.
Former POW and Hunger Striker Mary Doyle unveiled the plaque at the ceremony which was attended by more than 100 people.
