AIB exec’s reduced pension still the size of a Lotto win, says Mary Lou McDonald (Video)
WHILE Taoiseach Enda Kenny has welcomed former AIB chief executive Eugene Sheehy taking a cut in his pension, Sinn Féin TD Mary Lou McDonald points out the reduced pension of €250,000 is the type of money the average person would only see “if they won the Lotto” – every year.
The Sinn Féin deputy leader asked the Taoiseach during Leaders’ Questions in the Dáil today what action the Government would take to tackle bankers’ high pay and pensions. The Fine Gael leader said that the Government is legally prevented from interfering in contractual pension arrangements.
