Tar Anall launches women's education course

TAR ANALL, the Belfast based support group for the families of republican prisoners and released prisoners, is set to launch a major training and education initiative for women ex-prisoners and the female partners of serving prisoners. The funding for the course was provided by the Training for Women Network out of the European Peace and Reconciliation funding.

The 48 week course, to be launched on Thursday 26 June at an open day in Teach Tar Anall on Belfast's Falls Road will cater for those looking basic education and training and those who want to supplement higher education.

Roisin Kelly, Tar Anall's training and education counsellor, who is organising the course, said, ``this is an important course for women and we will be providing creche facilities for the participants. The other thing about the course is that we will provide back up and supplement the womens' studies with the new reference library we have set up in Teach Tar Anall''.

The launch will take place between 11am and 2pm on Thursday 26 June, a buffet lunch will be provided.
