'Time to come off the sidelines,' says inner city star
The audience included playwright and author Peter Sheridan and grassroots campaigners
BLUES MUSIC LEGEND the fabulous Don Baker opened final rally in Dublin on Monday calling for a NO vote against the EU Austerity Treaty.
After a rousing set of blues numbers ahead of the release of a new album, Don said he’s decided it’s “time to come off the sidelines” and he looks forward to a No vote against austerity on Thursday and Gerry Adams becoming Taoiseach in his lifetime.
The 250 people packed into the Pillar Room in Dublin’s Rotunda also heard from human rights activist and media commentator Siobhán O’Donoghue from the civic society campaign group ‘For a Better Europe, Vote No’, Mandate trade union leader John Douglas, Mary Lou McDonald and Gerry Adams. The audience included playwright and author Peter Sheridan and grassroots campaigners.
