Ó Snodaigh en route to Gaza

Freedom Flotilla: The MV Rachel Corrie about to set sail

Freedom Flotilla: The MV Rachel Corrie about to set sail

Dublin Sinn Féin TD Aengus Ó Snodaigh is currently en route to join the Freedom Flotilla bringing much needed humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people of Gaza. The flotilla will attempt to break the illegal Israeli blockade. Speaking before he left Deputy Ó Snodaigh said,”When I left Gaza city in November 2008 on board another siege breaking ship, the Dignity, I had hoped that I would be returning some day to a city with the siege lifted.
“I am now travelling with humanitarian aid such as cement, medical aid, wheelchairs, school books, kettles etc, which will help the Palestinian people of Gaza begin to reconstruct their homes and lives.
“The courage of those behind the MV Rachel Corrie is to be commended, and while one ship of aid is a dot in the ocean to what is needed in Gaza, it is symbolic and it is a call on the international community to act to get the siege lifted and allow the Palestinian the right to live.”
