Phillie backs united Ireland

Philadelphia City Council in December approved a resolution calling for a united Ireland as outlined under the Good Friday Agreement. Sponsored by Councilman James Kenney, the motion was adopted unanimously. Philadelphia joins San Francisco (California), Cleveland (Ohio) and Syracuse (New York) in approving a motion calling for a united Ireland by all electoral and diplomatic means necessary. The Philadelphia Ancient Order of Hiberians worked with Councilman Kenney in drafting the resolution and attended the council session.
