Face in the crowd.....

THIS photograph was taken circa january 1969. It is of a civil rights march in Derry and the speaker is Roddy Connolly, son of 1916 leader James Connolly.
The crowd contains many familiar republican faces from Derry including, sadly, some people including IRA Volunteers who later died on active service.
Interestingly there also pictured, down on the left, leaning on a car in white T-shirt  is Paul Fleming who this week was elected Mayor of Derry. This  photograph originally appeared in the Derry Journal.
