Time for a new generation - Ferris

Speaking  in the last days of the EU campaign, Ireland South candidate, Toiréasa Ferris, said that the election is an opportunity for change, not just a reaction to the government parties’ disastrous performance.
Toiréasa Ferris said: “The latest figures on redundancies remind us how serious a situation the country is in.   My generation is the one hit hardest by the collapse of the Irish economy.  We are the ones who are most likely to lose our jobs and our homes due to the ill thought out policies of others.  We are the ones left wondering at what future awaits our young children”
“But we are also the generation in the best position to make serious change for the better.  We have the ability, the energy and the drive to build a new Ireland, a more sustainable society which will benefit all of the people not just a privileged few.  We have not been compromised by the disastrous policies pursued by those in government and let’s face it, supported by most of the parties in opposition.”
“I want to see an Ireland where a strong economy serves the needs of society, where prosperity does not come at the expense of the ties that bind us together or the values that make us human.”
Ireland’s place is in Europe – but a Europe of equals, not one where Brussels dictates our future.  This election is about securing a strong voice for Munster at the European table. It is about rebuilding our country. Together we can make a change for a better future”
