Sinn Féin office targeted

THE FIFTH LOYALIST BOMB IN as many weeks outside a Sinn Féin centre ``will not deflect or intimidate the party from the task of seeking Irish national self-determination'', Gerry Adams told An Phoblacht after a 100 pound loyalist bomb failed to explode outside the party's Falls Road headquarters on Monday 28 April.

The device containing a detonator and a booster charge was left in a white Peugeot across the road from the Centre and five yards from the home of Falls woman Rita McFadden, whose home was damaged when British Army experts carried out a controlled explosion on the bomb.

The Peugeot had been stolen in North Belfast in January.

There was also an elaborate hoax bomb in Farnham Street in the nationalist Lower Ormeau Road in the early hours of Monday morning.
