Sinn Féin attack challenged

Cork East Sinn Féin election candidate, Councillor Kieran McCarthy has slammed Deputy Paul Bradford, the Co-chair of the British/Irish parliamentary body for remarks he made about the objectives of Sinn Féin.

Bradford said Sinn Féin might be aiming to divide ``constitutional'' politicians with ``the offer of a short-term ceasefire''.

Councillor McCarthy called his remarks ``grossly irresponsible'' and said that if there were any divisions among constitutional politicians in Ireland regarding the collapse of the peace process, then people should look no further than Downing Street for the authors of its failure.
