Peggy McGuinness passes away

PEGGY McGuinness, mother of Sinn Féin Chief Negotiator and deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness has died.
Peggy passed away peacefully last Monday morning at her home in Elmwood Street in Derry’s Bogside.
A native of Inishowen, County Donegal, Peggy was laid to rest on Wednesday in St Mary’s Cemetery, Cockhill, Buncrana, Donegal, after Requiem Mass in the Long Tower Chapel
Pre-deceased by her husband, William, Peggy is survived by her children Thomas, Martin, Paul, Geraldine, William, Declan and John.
Speaking on the news of the death of Peggy McGuinness, Sinn Féin Foyle MLA Raymond McCartney said:
“On behalf of Sinn Féin, I want to extend sympathy to the McGuinness family on the death of their mother, Peggy. Peggy McGuinness was a remarkable woman and all of us who enjoyed her generosity and kindness are greatly saddened by her passing.”
