Republicans from across Dublin gathered in Drimnagh on Saturday, 13 September for the 26th anniversary of the death of Charlie McGlade. The parade, which was led by a colour party and two bands, went from Dolphin Green Road to Errigal Field, stopping for a moment’s silence outside Charlie’s former home.
At Errigal Field, events were chaired by Ian McBride of Drimnagh Sinn Féin. The Roll of Honour was read by Catherine McBride. Peter Fitzpatrick spoke on the history of the Fenians and Peader Tunney, a close friend of Charlie’s, recited a ballad he had written about Charlie McGlade’s life. The main oration was given by Dublin South Central TD Aengus   Ó Snodaigh.
