RUC assault Maghera woman

A South Derry woman is taking legal action against the RUC Chief Constable for an incident in her home in which she was assaulted, and damage was caused to her property by an RUC man.

The incident happened during an RUC raid on the home of Bronagh Mulholland of Craigadick Park, Maghera. Mulholland was telephoning her solicitor when an RUC man grabbed the telephone from her grasp, pulled it from the wall and threw it into her garden. As she made her way to her sister's house nearby to continue the call, she was thrown against the wall, sustaining the bruising to her arm.

Mulholland's solicitor Liam McNally, has confirmed that legal proceedings concerning the incident have begun.
