Shock at murder on Donegal/ Tyrone border

COMMENTING on the murder of a man at Donnyloop on the Donegal/Tyrone border on Tuesday night, 12 February, Sinn Féin Vice President and West Tyrone MP Pat Doherty said:
“First and foremost it must be borne in mind that a family has been plunged into deep grieving as a result of this appaling act and right across the community this morning the universal reaction I have been hearing has been one of shock and disbelief immediately followed by words of heartfelt sympathy for the victim’s family.
“There is also a deep sense of anger in the community that the victim was murdered in front of St Columba’s Parish Church and that children who were attending a youth club in the adjoining community centre were witness to last night’s terrible events.
“I would encourage anyone with information about this murder to bring it forward to the Garda for investigation.”
