Fifty activists attend intensive Irish language course

Sinn Féin’s Six County Assembly Team has attended a two-day Irish language course (Mon -Tues 9-10 July) at Stormont this week.  Speaking after this successful venture Roinn an Chultúir chairperson, Séanna Breathnach said,
“The response has been immense. This two-day course follows a successful one-week Irish language course undertaken by Sinn Féin’s European Department in Donegal recently.  In the Assembly we auger to have a second course in August to meet the demand and to make the ‘Gaelú Shinn Féin’ policy a reality.”
“We, in Roinn an Chultúir/Sinn Féin Culture Department shall be rolling out this process to Leinster House and local councils ‘gan mhoill’ – without delay.”
“It is heartening to see so many people studying the language in the Assembly which is another site of struggle, and also at a time when the campaign for an Irish language Act is being brought to the fore by Sinn Féin.”
