Will Labour Party shut down Dublin City Council amenities?
THE Labour Party has been challenged by Sinn Féin group leader on Dublin City Council Larry O’Toole to “come clean” about their plans for cutting Dublin amenities.
Labour Councillor Killian Forde told a newspaper the next budget by the Labour/Fine Gael ruling group would be the harshest ever for the city.
Councillor O’Toole said:
“Labour’s Killian Forde said the Dublin City Council budget this year would contain cuts of €35million. Will they close swimming pools and libraries? Or will it be playgrounds and skate parks?
“The Labour Party showed their disdain for Dublin residents when they took the bin charge waiver from the poorest residents of the city. We all know what they are capable of now.
“The Labour Party and Fine Gael have shown a complete lack of imagination in how to handle budget deficits.
“Sinn Féin will challenge the dangerous plan they have for Dublin and we will work to ensure they are not allowed run this city into the ground.”
