TESCO IRELAND has secured a Dublin High Court injunction barring Sinn Fein TD Dessie Ellis and five members of SIPTU from the company’s distribution centre in Ballymun.

The order was made on 24 February after the Dublin North-West TD observed an 100-strong picket the previous night backing workers from the Eddie Stobarts trucking company who are in dispute with their employer over conditions and union recognition.

Dessie said that as he was an elected Dáil member for the area he had gone to be an eyewitness what was happening, including police and company reaction and surveillance of trade union supporters.
