Sinn Féin dismisses IMC Report

The IMC's latest report lacks credibility says Sinn Féin. The report, published in Belfast on Tuesday, welcomed Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams' recent appeal to the IRA but claimed that the IRA was still recruiting members and training them "in the use of firearms and explosives". The report also alleged the IRA was involved in criminal activity.

Alex Maskey, Sinn Féin Assembly member for South Belfast, dismissed the IMC as a tool of the British securocrats and the report as having no credibility.

"The IMC was set up at the behest of unionists and is the tool of the British securocrats. It was created and has been used to discriminate against Sinn Féin and our electorate," said Maskey.

"This report, like the previous reports, is based solely on the information provided to the IMC by the securocrats. It has little or no credibility and is neither impartial, fair nor balanced."
