Nationalist taxis targeted in Derry
Five nationalist-owned taxis were attacked with bricks and stones in the Waterside area of Derry over the weekend in a campaign orchestrated by loyalists, with one taxi targeted twice.
Sinn Féin Councillor Lynn Fleming said the sectarian attacks are part of a two-year campaign against Cityside taxis.
"Taxi drivers and local politicians need to sit down together to get these attacks stopped before someone is seriously injured or even killed," she said.
Development worker with Northwest Taxi Proprietors, Eamonn O'Donnell, said every one of these incidents has the potential for a disaster.
