Off-duty PSNI woman pulls gun at party

Cushendall-based Sinn Féin councillor Oliver McMullan is calling on the Police Ombudsman to investigate an incident when a female member of the PSNI pulled out her personal issue weapon and brandished it in a threatening manner.

The incident occurred at a house party in the North Antrim town on Saturday 19 March after the woman spent the night drinking in a pub.

It is believed the PSNI woman was involved in an argument in the bar before returning to the house party, where she pulled the gun.

Speaking to An Phoblacht, McMullan said that he was contacted by people expressing their fear and anger over what happened.

The PSNI confirmed they are carrying out inquiries but refused to confirm if the PSNI women involved is to be suspended from duty.
