Collusion protest at British Embassy

Protesting at the British Embassy

Protesting at the British Embassy

Upwards of 300 republican protestors held a protest outside the British Embassy in Dublin during the Ard Fheis weekend.

Among those present were representatives from the collusion justice group An Fhírinne and family members of those who have been killed as a result of British state collusion. The protestors held photographs of the victims of collusion. Garda Special Branch were openly photographing the proceedings and taking names of those present. Garda cars barricaded off the embassy from the protest.

The protest took place against the backdrop of the Sinn Féin Ard Fheis, which saw motions passed supporting the collusion families' fight for the truth.

Speaking from the protest, Mickey Bravender of Ógra Shinn Féin pointed out that "many people speak of the hundreds of victims of collusion; it is my estimation, however, that there are thousands of victims of collusion, when you look at the victims' families. They were mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, the list is endless."
